i made this 2 days late because mock exams ughhhhhhhhhhh but if you dont know what a brookie is its in the name its a mix of a brownie and a cookie and its heaven like theyre soooo good i tried making these in an airfryer like 3 months ago but because its an airfryer they did not cook in the middle and since my oven is still broken i made these at my aunties house i had a lot of fun making these because my little cousins were there and they are sooo cuteee even if they made the biggest mess possible through their very presence in the kitchen (the disaster rating) and kept singing that bum ass tung tung tung sahur song .. i made 15 and they were really good! i decorated it very weakly because its a brookie it looks beautiful enough but i put a little chantilly cream on them just to stick a single square of white bueno kinder chocolate on top it did jackshit but its bueno so idgaf looks r 9/10 because my 3 cousins (oldest here is 6 btw for reference) got to decorate one and they made the most beautiful mixture of every color in the solar system from the plasticky 80p icing tup they have at their house . it looked like leonardo da vincis rainbow vomit you shouldve seen it but in general i think everyone should eat a brookie at least once in their life i mean its literally 2 of the most amazing things in one dont be dissapointed if it doesnt look as good as the three musketeers ones though i had to deduct a point because my ones looked shameful in comparison

this was an insane day for me basically this was on a snow day and a friday and on this day my mom decided to do a lot of cleaning so for like 2 hours and me and my sister were helping and then when we were done my mom cleaned the floors really really well and the counters and everything she basically just deep cleaned the whole downstairs of my house and our floors are hardwood not carpet so we wear shoes in our house (only downstairs, upstairs is carpet) but this time the floors were so clean she didnt want us to use our shoes downstairs. this is going somewhere btw dont worry. me and my sister bake together on weekends sometimes and she found this recipe on tiktok for an apple upside down cake so she wanted us to do it,, at the moment our oven was broken so we were using our air fryer but we didnt care because weve baked multiple times using the air fryer because our oven is useless as shit so yeah carrying on most of the process was normal and not worth noting but ONE process made this a complete disaster. the syrup. we needed syrup for the apples on the cake and i left it to my sister considering i thought she was competent spoiler no the fuck she isnt so yeah rest of the process went as normal although when we poured in the cake batter in to the tin we noticed the apples seperated from their form but we didnt think about it,, the tin was a tin with a detachabe bottom so like one of these and this ended up being a horrendous idea..we put it in the air fryer and when my sister took it out after it was cooked hot syrup was pouring on to the freshly cleaned floors like water and when i say poured it was insane it wouldnt stop spilling like insane insane spilling and my sister was just frozen there because i have no idea she was just frozen and so i was to be honest but yeah..after it stopped spilling my sister put it inside the sink and my mom finished praying and she hadnt seen the mess yet but we just told her what happened and she sighed really loud and told me to give my sister one of the old shirts we were going to throw away to clean it,, the spill was too big and my sister was using her hands to hold the shirt and clean the sticky syrup instead of the underneath of her foot because "her shoe would get sticky" so my mom came in to help her and she was not expecting the syrup river thames that just appeared in the middle of the kitchen.... we got in a lot of trouble and my mom used the bed sheet we were going to throw away underneath her bare foot to clean it...all our shoes still got sticky though because some how the essence of sticky syrup got some completely unaffected areas just slightly sticky like the kitchen enterance so yeah my mom also didnt use a mop to clean the stickyness yet so the floor was still sticky but we couldnt use shoes so our feet were sticking to the floor it was gross and syrup had spilt all in the inside of our airfryer so my sister cleaned up as much as she could but my mom told her to leave it, when we got it out the sink and flipped it over it looked GROSS like the top (bottom cause you flip it upside down) was completely wet with syrup and the apples went really thin and were scattered weirdly like a deformed slimy ring around the cake instead of the brown crispy rose pattern..taste though? amazing oh my god the cake was delicious it was really moist in a good way and tasted sooo nice god it was delicious we showed it to my parents and they said it was good and ate like 3/4 of it so thank god. my little brother said it tasted disgusting but he can die so yeah overall huge disaster but at least we got a good cake!
